Why did I start this?
You want to be a game developer, right? You want a professional education using expensive software, spend several hours a day on super-interesting and exciting lessons led by professional game developers, right? Sounds like a heaven... but since we're not going to write a fantasy story here, let's go back to the reality (at least for now). Unless you're child of a rich daddy, you won't get education like that. For those that can pay for that, try some of the great institutes around. And again, unless you live in one of those big and beautiful cities, there is no such a school (yes, there isn't one in Transylvania or Uganda either).

How life goes at Bethesda Softworks
Game development is art. It's when you put all forms of art together. Graphics, music, storyline.. bound together by high technical knowledge. Game development is even more specific type of art. Several artists need to cooperate and understand each other. I consider programmers to be artists too.
But art isn't about artists. What we need to keep in mind is that art is about entertaining the audience, about sending message and sharing your feelings. People love games, they need games and it has not changed over the past few years. Look at this Google Trends chart:
But I was really surprised when I asked Google Trends about "game development". See this chart:
People are not as interested in game development as they were few years ago. There is no one to guide the ones that have decided to become game developers. When you don't get enough motivation you become lazy and stop working. Although I'm not a professional game developer, I will try to teach you the basics, motivate you to continue and support your interest. Because world needs brave game developers...
Enough words, let's start an epic journey!
